Leaves From The Tree
2015 marks the 150th year since the colonial government decided to place Sydney's main cemetery on what is now the Rookwood site. This film tells the story of Rookwood from inception to present day.
The film gets its title from a traditional song that tells us that we are all like the leaves of a tree, a reassuring metaphor for the circle of birth and death that is life. The film celebrates Rookwood's history of partnerships, its role as Sydney's 'sleeping city' and its ongoing commitment to be truly representative of our increasingly diverse community.
Film devised and produced by Warren Fahey and Mic Gruchy.
