Proving Line of Control

This is a guide to the avenue that will have to be taken to establish rights to open a pre-purchased grave site.

This format will have to be proven with the appropiate completed forms from the Anglican and General Cemetery Trust Office.

Before this burial can take place we will require a complete line of control from the original owner.

To prove a line of control you will require the death certificate along with the spouses registered death certificate if they didn't predeceased them. If not and the spouse pre-deceased the owner then we only require the registered death certificate of the owner as it will account for the spouse who pre-deceased them.

Once that has be proven with the above death certificate/s it will list the children we require you to provide either death certificates or letters of approval allowing for the burial to take place along with copies of identification e.g.: drivers licence, pension card is required to validate the signatures for the approval. Death certificates will then give a line of control for the children if they are deceased then we will require to follow that family line to allow the burial to take place. We will require this to be done for all the children in the family of the deceased.

In some instances a Statutory Declaration signed by a Justice of the Peace will be adequate but this will have to be approved by the Office before this avenue is to be taken. There are currently no posts in this category.
