Rookwood Tour Day
The Rookwood Tour Day invites the community to explore Australia’s most iconic cemetery, through a variety of unique tours.

Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm
Location: Village Green, Hawthorne Avenue, Rookwood Cemetery. Map can be viewed here.
Our upcoming tour day will provide a way for visitors to experience what Rookwood has to offer, including its vast landscape, culturally specific gardens, heritage buildings and memorials.
Rookwood Heritage Tour 1, with Friends of Rookwood - 10.00am and 12.00pm
This tour will visit some significant graves, including the man who saved the life of the Duke of Edinburgh, Peter Dodds McCormick who composed Australia’s National Anthem, Bea Miles and the extravagant Fraser Mausoleum.
Rookwood Heritage Tour 2, with Friends of Rookwood - 11.00am and 1.00pm
This tour encompasses St. Andrews Cathedral, the handsome Robert Hancock and the Hordern family, just to name a few.
Rookwood Landmark Tour, with Rookwood General Cemetery - 10.00am and 1.00pm
Rookwood’s landmarks showcase the history and culture of the cemetery, including the historic footings of Mortuary Station Number 1, one of the original cemetery offices, the Circle of Love memorial to children, the holocaust memorial, the Greek Church, the Chapel and Mausoleum of Eternal Rest, along with a number of notable gravesites.
