The health and safety of our community and staff is our top priority.

At Rookwood General Cemetery, we have been making changes to our services during COVID-19 to ensure we remain committed to keeping everyone safe while remembering the lives of their loved ones. As restrictions ease, we are adapting accordingly.  We want to thank you for assisting us in this challenging time.

The restrictions for outdoor funerals and memorial services have been removed.

Within our chapels and function centre we can accommodate the below numbers. This is in accordance with venue restrictions whereby the one person per two square metre rule will apply when there are more than 25 attendees. (Live-streaming is available in the All Souls).

Funeral directors are required to record the names and telephone numbers of all persons attending a service.

  Min. booking: 20 (weekdays) or 30 (weekends) Max. capacity: 45

Function venue capacities refer to standing room only. When booking the function place, please confirm seating capacity based on your event.

To assist the community we have implemented the following changes to our services:

  • AV facilities are available in the All Souls venue, which can be used for streaming services.
  • With many families are doing it tough during this time, we’re trying to ease some of the burden. We’ve reduced the price of hiring the All Souls ceremonial venue for funeral and memorial services. Weekday services are now $620. (Previously $950).
  • All chapels will be cleaned after each service, meeting rooms after each meeting, and offices at the end of each day.
  • We will no longer be accepting payment via cash for any of our services. Please assist us by making alternative arrangements, such as paying by credit card, direct deposit, or cheque.
  • Burial and cremation services will continue to be offered 7 days per week, however office hours have temporarily changed to 7.30am - 4.00pm. The office will be closed on weekends, with Client Services representatives available via phone on Saturdays (9.00am – 1.00pm) and Sundays (9.00am – 3.00pm).
  • When visiting the cemetery, please ensure that you do so in accordance with NSW Government restrictions and we urge you to follow advice regarding social distancing.
